280411 - Performances

Hey Everyone,

Before i go into talking about the Last few weeks, i would like to display a video of my Training in the month of March. Prior to the start of the month i had set certain goals in my training and set out to achieve them. This approach worked well for me as i could drill a handful of techniques till i improved on them.  Here is the Video

In the past couple of weeks we had a crazy schedule of performances. It Started off with a performance at the Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club. It was a good show with a great turnout. We then had a 5 day consecutive run at Centro Roselands Shopping Centre. We Performed twice a day, with 10 shows in total. It was physically demanding but am glad we all got through it. Here is a copy of the Poster that was put up around the Centre.

We also did 2 Performances at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. This was also a great experience with the crowd getting behind the show. Furthermore, The X-Treme Karate Kidz spent a day out in the city of Sydney. Below is a highlight video of their training.

During this time I was invited to perform at the Deadside TV Launch Party. Here is a video from the night

A couple of day i ago i attended the Chris Brown F.A.M.E concert here in Sydney. On the tour was Gui DaSilva who is a tricker and one of Chris Brown’s Back up Dancers. We were fortunate enough to have him come and train with us. He is a really down to earth guy and we had a couple of good training sessions with him. I wish him the best of luck in the rest of his concerts on their world tour.

On Saturday Morning i will be heading over to Korea to attend the World Taekwondo Championships. My Father has an executive position at the event and i will be going to watch the Tournament. I have been out of the competition style taekwondo scene and i am eager to go and see the level of competition in World today. Furthermore, it has been a few years since ive been to Korea and im looking forward to visiting the country again.

Till next time.

060411 - ISKA Sports Person of the Year

On Saturday the 12th of March the International Sports Karate Association (ISKA) held their annual Awards night. In this event, athletes are awarded for their commitment and achievements in the Martial Arts. I was awarded with the ISKA Sports Person of the Year Award, and was also Inducted into the ISKA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Receiving this award was a great honor and i would like to thank the ISKA board for selecting me as the athlete of the year.

Whenever i am away travelling i am on such a high. I enjoy the new surroundings and try to soak in as much as i can. Whether i visit the same place again, or whether its my first vist, it is always a different learning experience. Then when i come back home, reality hits and i go back into the routine life. Although this isnt too bad when your doing what you love.

Whilst in the USA last month, i was fortunate enough to meet and train with some talented people. Here is a video of some of my training and sightseeing footage.

In recent time, we have been experiencing some unfortunate natural disasters. My heart goes out to all those victims and families that were affected. Team E and myself were invited to perform at a Disaster Relief Charity event. Here is video from that performance.

After this performance, we went back to my dojo and had a little session.

Finally, I attended and performed at the Deadside TV Launch Party in the city. I am a cast member of this Project. If you would like more information on this project please visit www.deadside.tv

Looking at the month ahead, we have a hectic schedule of performances lined up for April. We are in rehearsals at the moment and are looking forward to busting out the shows.
